Save the images you want to use for your website photo gallery using keywords related to the work you want to do.
Are you a plumber?
When taking finished job photos for your website, instead of leaving the image name as “IMG_019873”, change the name to “On-Call Plumber Waterloo Kitchener Guelph ” before you send the photo to your website manager.
Keep it short
Change it up for every photo – If you have a sequence of photos from a job, the next photo might be “Kitchener custom home building plumbing”, and a third photo may be “Waterloo high end bath faucet”.
Saving Your Money, or Saving Your Time?
As a website designer and builder, we make sure to do this on your behalf for everyone website built. It does take time, and that means it does take money to get great SEO for your photos on your behalf.
We do our research to ensure the keywords we are using are certain to help your ideal clients find you.
However, at the end of the day YOU are the best person to define your perfect customer. You can do this by noticing differences about the clients you want to fire, and the most wonderful people to work with, and using those wonderful notes to determine the keywords to use for your photos.
So a rule of thumb is… Act in the middle-ground, send a couple of specific keywords with the photos to your website developer describing the work you want to do, your ideal customer, and the region(s) your company works.
